Namib Desert
dunes up to 350m high engulf the Sossusvlei, a pan that turns into a
shallow lake when the Tsauchab River occasionally breaks through the
sand barriers, after heavy summer rain falls. Sossusvlei is situated
in the Namib-Naukluft- Park, Africa's fourth-largest nature
conservation area, and may be visited by self-driving guests of Farm
Duwisib during day excursions, throughout the year. |
