T
he world's highest desert dunes at Sossusvlei
Namib Desert / Namib Naukluft Park - South-western Namibia

Namib Desert dunes up to 350m high engulf the Sossusvlei, a pan that turns into a shallow lake when the Tsauchab River occasionally breaks through the sand barriers, after heavy summer rain falls. Sossusvlei is situated in the Namib-Naukluft- Park, Africa's fourth-largest nature conservation area, and may be visited by self-driving guests of Farm Duwisib during day excursions, throughout the year.
The Sesriem Canyon (below left) is another sightseeing attraction of the park.

Left & right:
A full-day tour to the south of Duwisib takes travellers to the Tiras Mountains. A natural spring amongst boulders, magnificent views of the dune desert, and quiver trees are just some of the attractions of this area.

  Please note:
All these excursion options are only available to self-driving guests of Farm Duwisib. We will gladly assist with information and travel tips but are unable to provide guide and transport services.
